Worship

The Preaching Plan for March - June 2023 can be seen by clicking here.

Hopefully this page will give you a flavour of weekly worship at St. Andrew's. If you have any questions, please get in touch. You can email (info@standrewspudsey.co.uk) or call in at the office (Mon - Fri 10 am -12 noon). You can also call into Church itself or go into the hall for coffee on a Saturday morning (10 am -12 noon).

Sunday Morning worship takes place each Sunday at 10:30am.

If you are thinking about visiting for the first time, our services are easy to follow. We have a general welcome and notices, followed by the service itself which consists of two Bible readings, prayers, about five hymns and a sermon which helps us understand the word of God more fully. Services are led by either a Minister of the Methodist Church, or by a local preacher.

We sing both modern and traditional hymns and these are accompanied by the Church organ, piano or CD. Don't worry if the tune is unfamiliar - it's fine to listen and follow the words - whatever works for you!

Every month the Communion Service is led by our Minister, Rev. Keith Hunt. Communion takes place during the second half of the service. Everyone (including children) is welcome to come to the communion table - each row is invited to go forward in turn by a steward. Communion in the Methodist Church consists of a tiny piece of real bread and an individual (also tiny!) glass of non-alcoholic wine. If you would like to stay in your seat during communion and have personal reflection, that's fine too.

Junior Church takes place in the hall at 10:30am, with the exception of the second Sunday of the month when there is an All Age Service in Church. These services are especially planned for making young people feel at home in a Church service, and often children are asked to volunteer to help the preacher illustrate the core message of the sermon.

On the fourth Sunday of each month, alongside the service in the main Church, Messy Church takes place in the hall.  Messy Church is led by worship leaders from St. Andrew's and is open to children and adults. It's a way of sharing God's word in a practical and crafty way  - have a look at our Messy Church page to see the sort of things we do. Don't worry if you are not very artistic or crafty - there's plenty of help on hand and it's a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Messy Church follows Eat and Meet from 9:45am. Eat and Meet is a time to get to know each other and share some toast and coffee/tea. This is particularly welcome on a cold winter's morning! Some people go along to Eat and Meet and then come to the Church for the service at 10:30 am, and others stay in the hall for Messy Church.

After each Sunday service everyone is very welcome to come for tea/coffee in the main hall. Many people enjoy having a chat to catch up or just get to know each other. It's fine to just attend the service if you prefer - we know how busy modern life can be!

We look forward to welcoming you!
